Water Utility
With approximately 70 miles of pipelines that serve 4,000 residential accounts, 750 commercial accounts, and 75 industrial accounts, the Chanute water utility has provided high quality, potable water for the citizens and businesses of Chanute since 1894.
Water Towers
Currently, the city owns and operates three water towers. The Seventh Street water tower has a capacity of 500,000 gallons. The Highland Park tower holds 250,000 gallons and the water tower in the Safari Industrial Park adds an additional 1,000,000 gallons to the Chanute water utility reserves.
