During the October 27, 2025, regular City Commission meeting, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 2675, amending the operation of golf carts and utility vehicles on the streets within the corporate city limits of the City of Chanute with certain restrictions. Chanute residents interested in registering their SPV should follow the steps for obtaining a special use annual permit which includes completing an application for registration and license. SPV registration renewals will be completed in January of every year.
