The Fantasticks is a 1960 musical with music by Harvey Schmidt and the book and lyrics by Tom Jones. It tell an allegorical story, loosely based on the 1894 play the Romancers by Edmond Rostand, concerning two neighboring fathers who trick their children, Luisa and Matt, to falling love by pretending to feud. The local cast members are devoted volunteers some are new to the CCT stage and some are seasoned veterans. David Beck a familiar face at CCT returns as Director of this familiar production. The Fantasticks is presented though special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
